I forgot to mention the most astounding news from the regional softball tournament. Jenny and Tiffany Bates drove to the game in Concord from their home a few miles south of Morenci. In the parking lot they heard a mewing sound. Two kittens had climbed into the undercarriage of the car and traveled all the way without falling off. They were quite a hit at the game. Suggested names included Hitch and Hiker or Lucky and Luckier.
Someone pointed out the more unpleasant possibility: Two kittens made the trip but how many started out from home?
