My wife and I walked a mile at the track yesterday and noticed a large number of bees buzzing around the top of the scoreboard. There were a couple of landings on our backs. I think it was on the second lap—after we decided that maybe we would walk three-fourths of the track, then turn around and avoid the bees—that I saw one on her back and discovered they were actually beetles.
They were about as big as a good-sized honeybee and light brown in color. Sure had us fooled. I’ve never seen beetles swarm like that.
